Description

The Faculty must demonstrate significant scholarly commitment; The Faculty will competently teach advanced and or graduate nursing courses; Establish a strong research record or high level of scholarship or creative achievement; Show participation and commitment with professional organizations; Obtain external competitive funding for research and educational activities through grants and proposals. The Faculty will supervise thesis and dissertation committees, proctor examinations, read and grade papers, maintain proper grading and attendance records, advisement hours, participate in research and scholarly activities, serve on graduate level committees, as well as various other assignments and duties assigned or required by Southern University, the Dean and Chair of Graduate Nursing Programs.

Qualifications

THERE ARE THREE POSITIONS AVAILABLE.

Minimal Qualifications:

The candidate must meet all requirements for graduate studies Faculty level I and hold the rank of Associate Professor in a graduate nursing degree granting department or school. The candidate must submit an updated curriculum vitae and at least (3) letters of reference/endorsements; Have a minimum of (3) years of experience participating regularly in a graduate program; Demonstrated capability to obtain external , competitive funding for research or educational activities through grants; Evidence of a strong research record and demonstrated by ability to obtain funding for research or educational activities; Must have published research and scholarly work during the last (5) years; The candidate must provide evidence of his or her significant publications appearing under the imprint or recognized scholarly publishing houses or journals. The candidate must indicate current involvement in research or creative work; Ability and competence in teaching advanced or graduate courses.
