Description

Instructional faculty member; Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in areas of expertise and other course in the department in consultation with the Chairperson of department; Student academic advisement; Participate in clinical education on campus and in the SUBR Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic and occasionally with some off-campus assignments. Work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings; Participation on campus and system-wide committees; Maintaining office hours; Participation in traditional academic functions; Research; Scholarship and/or creative activity and service to University, profession and community.

Qualifications

REQUIRED – An earned doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology (Ph.D., AuD) from an accredited institution is required. PhD is preferred. Applicants who are nearing the completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered for appointment; the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment. Evidence of teaching, clinical and/or research experience in one or more of the following areas: Language Disorders, Phonology, Articulation, Fluency Disorders, Aural Rehabilitation, Audiology, Auditory Processing Disorders, Vestibular System Disorders, and/or Electrophysiological Procedures, Auditory Electrophysiology, and Hearing Disorders. The area of specialization in audiology is open.

PREFERRED-Evidence of national certification in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP), or Audiology (CCC-A) Evidence of eligibility to obtain or possession of Louisiana licensure in speech-language pathology or in audiology and dispensing of hearing aids. Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Evidence of scholarly achievement (e.g., academic or professional presentations, publications in refereed journals) in speech-language pathology.
