Description

The Field Coordinator, Nutrition Education Programs will:

    1. Assist the Program Director in managing nutrition education Programming via the 13 parish outreach
    2. Work closely with nutrition educators to provide support and guidance in daily programming activities.
    3. Oversee the development, management & implementation of Policy, Systems, & Environmental (PSE) component.
    4. Assist with the training of staff to improve nutrition knowledge & delivery of nutrition education programs
    5. Assist Program Director in the selection of appropriate resources & materials to inform, educate & empower nutrition educators with the tools to provide effective nutrition & physical activity education in accordance with & the scope of SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention contract.
    6. Conduct program monitoring in the field to ensure effective and consistent delivery of nutrition education by nutrition Educators.
    7. Responsible for conducting statewide site visits to observe educational activities.
    8. Develop/Coordinate/OVersee the SNAP-Ed program's social media program.
    9. Contribute, monitor and post to social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
    10. Stay up-to-date with changes in all social media platforms to ensure maximum effectiveness.
    11. Train staff to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way.
    12.Perform other related duties and responsibilities as determined by the Program Director.

PRIMARY DOMICILE: Southern University Ag Center; Baton Rouge, LA.

Qualifications

Minimal Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition or closely related discipline.
Master's degree in Nutrition, Administration Policy or closely related field.
At least five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Experience providing nutrition or health education or consultation in a community setting.
Experience working with social media platforms.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Ability to travel extensively.
Successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities.
