Description

Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst provides leadership in the design and implementation of the human resources (HR) information system.  The Analyst serves as a liaison to Information Technology function, requiring seasoned systems knowledge and generalist knowledge of Human Resources activities. 
Human Resources Planning, Policies, and Procedures
Provide consistent interpretation/application of HR policies and procedures across the system wide campuses and educate and provide system wide guidance on HR system processes and functionalities to ensure consistency with applicable laws and HR policies and practices to include Banner HRS.
Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
Design, implement, and manage Banner Human Resources System; work with Information Technology personnel to develop plans for proposed systems, functionalities, and enhancements; develop, implement, and modify Banner system requirements to support and lead processes/projects that add value to the Human Resources function.; identify optimal solutions that meet the needs of the Human Resources function by recommending process improvements, system enhancements, and alternatives based on specific needs as defined by current versus future HR practices; continuously research new systems; evaluate current system and identify areas of improvement; monitor the implementation and operation of approved systems, functionalities, and enhancements; audit system capabilities for accuracy, integrity, and functionality by performing system testing; monitoring and documenting test results; analyzing test results and documenting system discrepancies; ensure adherence to HR laws and University policies, and practices; provide leadership and oversees the tracking of University head count against budget, including salary expense, new requisitions, employees, etc.; provide data input and special reports to supply the HR function with data management support; partner with HR personnel to define information needs and sources; advise HR personnel on design and utilization of all information systems including but not limited to Banner; educate HR personnel on consistent system practices as it relates to HR activities; provide problem resolution and develop solutions to system issues and perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
●Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in human resources, computer science, business or related field (Equivalent: College-level coursework in personnel related fields and a substantial amount of senior level experience in the fields of human resources/personnel administration.  Experience will be converted on the basis of two (2) years related experience for one (1) year of education.)
●Three (3) years of recent experience in information system development, management, and implementation.

Qualifications desired:
Previous Banner experience and working knowledge, etc.

Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of HRIS system development and administration, systems analysis and research methods, and human resources functions and processes.

Ability to:
● Identify and lead projects related to the design, management, enhancement, and implementation of HRIS
● Translate HR requirements and write specification to communicate needs to information technology personnel
● Analyze system capability and data integrity
● Create customized and accurate reports and data analysis;
● Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
