Under the direction of the Head Football Coach, the Assistant Football Coach performs a variety of coaching functions related to the sport of Football.  These coaching functions include, but are not limited to the following: administrative, coaching, counseling, game management, academic and athletic excellence and recruiting.  The Assistant Football Coach must have a thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations and policies of Southern University, the NCAA and the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree (Masters preferred).  Applicants must have coaching or equivalent experience, demonstrated ability to recruit student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success and knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance issues concerning the adminsitration of intercollegiate athletics.
